I write as an interested party to an IPCC Independant Investigation, which having completed its report in July 2011 remains unpublished and awaiting MPS action.

Please find below extracts of letter to Commissioner

Further to your letter of 20 January 2012, I have now had time to consider the redacted copy of the report.

It appears that a report has been written based on an investigation where those being investigated have failed to answer meaningful questions and minutes of key meetings have been ‘lost’. I do not understand how conclusions can be drawn from such limited information and how it can actually be termed an investigation when those involved have refused to engage with the process.

The IPCC’s values, as published, say “We use our authority and powers unflinchingly to help those who suffer injustice because of an abuse of police powers to obtain redress.” My own experience has eroded any sense of trust and faith in both the police and the powers invested in the IPCC within the Police Reform Act and I have been left feeling that the system designed to protect the vulnerable has failed.

Why would staff feel ‘threatened’ by the presence of CCTV if they’re not doing anything wrong?? Only guilty people would be worried about it!

VIGIL for Shanice Paris Goth, 18 years of age “fell” from a tower block last week. The police were there during the incident though claim they were in no way responsible. A vigil is is taking place today from 5.30 pm Tuesday 17 April at Plumstead Police Station, Plumstead High Street SE18, London. This is also an online vigil so please share! and show we care. njnp
